Triumphs at Guys & Dolls Heats
Laughil Jess, the ‘Queen of Crayford’, emerged victorious at the Ladbrokes Guys & Dolls Heats, impressively securing her place in the semi-finals. Racing manager Danny Rayment praised trainer Dave Lee for a superb job, with Laughil Jess winning the Dolls heat two in 23.16 seconds, marking a remarkable return from retirement. This victory also contributed to Lee’s sweep of the Dolls heats, with notable performances from All Along and Mini Eva.
In this distinctive competition, male and female greyhounds compete separately until the £5,000 final. The Dogs heats featured impressive runs from Slick Sabo, Romeo To Victory, and Droopys Rarity.
Additionally, the Ladbrokes.com Summer 540 Trophy final saw Razldazl Amanda, trained by Ricky Holloway, claiming victory after overcoming a setback at the second bend.
Rayment noted the high calibre of racing, particularly highlighting Tom Heilbron's dogs from the northeast, who performed exceptionally well in their races. The return of Laughil Jess to winning form is seen as a standout moment, though she faces a challenging path in the upcoming semi-finals.
