Tribal Syd Leads Laurels at Cork

Saturday night’s entire card at Cork was dedicated to the much-anticipated opening round of the Laurels, and Tribal Syd did not disappoint. Entering the competition as the ante-post favourite, Syd lived up to the hype with a blistering 28.01-second performance under the guidance of trainer Murt Leahy, setting the fastest time of the night.

One of Syd’s biggest challengers, Crafty Shivoo, also made a strong start to her campaign, clocking 28.36 to secure a confident win and keep the competition tight.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Irish Derby champion, The Other Kobe, wasn’t far off the pace, posting a time just shy of Syd’s in his heat. After displaying strong form over two bends at Dundalk in August, his recent return to four bends has reaffirmed his speed and capabilities, positioning him as a serious contender in the weeks ahead.
