Thrilling Racing Highlights

Open races took centre stage at Doncaster, Monmore, and Perry Barr, delivering a series of exciting performances.

At Perry Barr, half of the card featured trial stakes in preparation for the upcoming Birmingham Cup and St Leger. Chris Fereday’s No Better Feelin made a memorable exit from the puppy category with a decisive 480m victory, clocking in at 28.22. Brian Thompson’s Aghaburren Beau matched this time, while local hero Darley Diglake secured another win for Robert Hall with a 28.29 finish.

In the 710m distance, Haka Carlo set the pace for Jason Heath, recording an impressive 42.69. Matt Dartnall's Lively Lauren capitalised on an ideal draw to win with a time of 43.08, while Fabulous Dyna, trained by Laurence Tuffin, crossed the line in 43.49.

Although Bellmore Cricket didn’t quite hit his peak timing, he still proved unbeatable in the 450m Standard Final at Doncaster. Once he took the lead, he was unstoppable, securing his third course and distance win of August for trainer Barry Denby.

Over at Monmore, the evening’s headline was the three heats of a sprint competition. The two top contenders advanced to next Saturday’s final. Richie Taberner’s Cree Jo Jo emerged as the fastest with a 15.26 finish, followed by William Russell’s Magical Bluebear at 15.62, and Werners Me Name, trained by Brian Thompson, close behind at 15.63.
