Swindon Prepares for Insightful Produce Stakes Trials
An intriguing trial session is set to take place at Swindon on Thursday, offering valuable insights just a week ahead of the opening round of the Produce Stakes.
Starting this year, the entry process for the Produce Stakes will undergo a significant change, aligning it with other Category One competitions. The previous system, which required entry at the litter stage followed by three subsequent acceptance stages, will be replaced by a single, cost-free entry, similar to other major events. The deadline for entries is NOON on Monday, August 26. Despite it being a bank holiday, the office will remain open to accommodate any last-minute submissions.
The competition's first round is scheduled for Thursday, August 29, with subsequent rounds occurring on consecutive Thursdays until the final on September 19.
Eligible greyhounds must be British-bred, whelped in 2022, and fully registered with the Greyhound Stud Book.
The winner will take home a prize of over £10,000 along with a trophy, while the runner-up will receive £2,000. Other finalists will be awarded £1,000 each. Additionally, the breeder of the winning dog will earn £2,000 and a trophy, with breeders of other finalists receiving £500.
Earlier rounds of the competition will feature standard Swindon open race prize money.
