Remembering Padge Roban and Dermot Cox: Losses to Irish Greyhound Racing
The Irish greyhound racing community mourns the loss of two prominent figures this week: Padge Roban and Dermot Cox.
Padge Roban, famed for his Elite prefix, made significant contributions to the sport. This Saturday night, his legacy will be honored as Elite Kursk competes in the Bar One Sprint at Dundalk, following an impressive second-round performance.
Dermot Cox, the former landlord of Newbridge Stadium, also left an indelible mark on the racing scene. In honour of his passing, there will be no racing at Newbridge tomorrow, a gesture of respect for a man whose name graced the prestigious Cox Cup.
