Maverick Shows Off His Speed and Skill

Heat four was the highlight of the night, featuring a thrilling race where Keefill Maverick narrowly edged out Droopys Hanover by a short head at the finish line. It wasn’t an easy win, but Maverick once again demonstrated the exceptional talent of his litter.

Maverick, the firstborn from Droopys Addition’s initial litter, holds a special place for trainer Phil Milner. “It’s surreal. As a breeder, this is what you dream of. To reach this level so quickly and compete at this stage is an incredible thrill. He’s a professional who loves his work and excels at it.”

Milner expressed gratitude to Geoff Parnaby, the owner of the dam Tarsna Atalanta, for allowing him to have her. “I can’t believe Geoff let me have her; he plays a key role in planning the breeding.” This breeding program includes Keefill Goose, the runner-up in the BGBF Champion Stakes Final on Derby night. Additionally, another litter from Tarsna Atalanta by Ballymac Cashout is on the horizon, promising more excitement for the team.

Milner noted that Maverick was “returning to form. He loved this place, and we knew he felt at home. We’re thrilled with his performance.” Next up is the Produce Stakes, where Milner plans to bring a team led by Goose and Maverick.

Other notable performances included King Capaldi and Druids Say Go, who both won from the blue jacket with times of 26.48 and 26.54 seconds, respectively. Wrighty and Nowitsmyturn also claimed victories in their heats, while 2023 runner-up Eze successfully advanced to the semifinals.

Out of the five wide seeds that entered the competition, none progressed to the next stage. The draw for next Saturday’s £10,000 BetGoodwin Pall Mall semifinals now includes 12 railers and six middle seeds, ensuring an exciting continuation of the event.
