March On Freddie Eyes Shelbourne Stint
It was confirmed last night that March On Freddie, the Puppy Classic champion, is set to race at Shelbourne Park next month.
Before heading to Ireland, March On Freddie’s next stop is at Hove this Thursday for a two-round competition, which should prepare him well for the upcoming challenge. Over the weekend, he flew around Central Park, clocking a time well under the track record, signalling he's in top form for the next step in his journey.
Widely regarded as one of the leading greyhounds in England, March On Freddie’s presence in the Irish Derby is sure to be welcomed by fans and competitors alike. His entry adds a new layer of excitement to a Derby already featuring young and relatively unknown contenders.
Owned by George Watson and trained by David Mullins, this son of Dorotas Wildcat now ranks as the fourth favourite for the Irish Derby. Currently leading the odds are his littermate Bockos Diamond, Time Juvenile Derby champion Callaway Knegare, and English Derby victor De Lahdedah.
