Holloway Aims for Full Sweep in Champion Challenge

Ricky Holloway, who had five finalists in the 2023 Ladbrokes Champion Hurdle with Lenson Doolin's record-setting 23.10 win, is raising the stakes this year. With seven greyhounds in the semi-finals at Crayford this Sunday, he aims for a complete sweep in the final.

Holloway is excited about the challenge, hoping to exceed last year’s success by getting all six finalists. Leading the charge is Razldazl Barkley, who impressed with a 23.31 win in his first hurdle race. His trainer calls him a "precocious talent" with immense potential, drawing comparisons to the late hurdling star Razldazl Raidio.

Holloway’s dogs won three of the four heats, with Harlequin Ernie and Four From Two also showing promise. Harlequin Ernie, praised for his early pace, is maturing well. Four From Two, expected to improve significantly, is seen as a powerful staying hurdler.

Among the other contenders, Signet Harper could be a real threat if she returns to form, and Razldazl Randall is in good shape after a recent tumble. Newcomer Slick Sabo, despite struggling with hurdles, remains an intriguing prospect.

Holloway’s team is set for an exciting challenge, aiming to dominate and make history in the finals.
