Freddie Sets the Pace at Nottingham

David Mullins' promising young greyhound, Freddie, set a new fastest time of the year at Nottingham, signalling his strong potential ahead of the Jenningsbet Puppy Classic.

Before last night, no dog had broken the 29.50-second barrier at Nottingham in 2024. Despite the absence of the favourite, Droopys Superstar, Freddie still needed to deliver, and he did so impressively, winning by over eight lengths. His time of 29.37 seconds was just four lengths shy of Skywalker Logan's track record set during the 2019 Derby.

The Mullins team celebrated further success with March On Kit, who ran a 29.87 for owner George Watson. Swift Underwater, trained by John Lambe, clocked an even faster 29.84, making it a flawless 3-for-3 career record after victories in A4 and open races at Perry Barr.

Swift Underwater is rapidly improving, dominating the race with a strong burst into the first bend to lead all the way. Born in 2023, he is another rising star likely to be a frontrunner in the upcoming Puppy Classic.
