19:53 SWINDON: Southfield Duke (Trap 5)
The Produce Final at Swindon looks too close to call, but one standout in the supporting 476m Open race is Southfield Duke (Trap 5). Paul Foster’s young dog has been nearly flawless at the boxes, dominating three similar events recently, and his early pace should give him the edge once again.
His littermate, Southfield King (Trap 3), hasn’t shown the same burst from the boxes and may be disadvantaged from the middle draw, while Eze (Trap 4), who finished behind Duke last week, could follow him home for second.
19:33 HOVE: Clona Uriel (Trap 1)
Over at Hove, Clona Uriel (Trap 1) is a strong contender in the 500m heat of the Dual Distance Trophy. Trainer Derek Knight’s greyhound has an excellent record when returning fresh, and after a sharp trial last week, he’s primed for another top performance. Though a Trap 1 draw isn't ideal, Uriel’s superior early speed should allow him to take control early against his slower rival in Trap 2.
20:07 HOVE & 20:24 HOVE: Swift Jarvis (Trap 2) / Antigua Bingo (Trap 6) - Win Double
For a double, it is worth backing Antigua Bingo (Trap 6) in the Bitches Final at Hove and Swift Jarvis (Trap 2) in the Maiden Stayers Final. Antigua Bingo, coming off a dominant performance in the heats, has an ideal draw outside a railer and boasts a flawless track record. Meanwhile, Swift Jarvis was hugely impressive in his heat, winning by nearly eight lengths on his debut over six bends, and looks to have a clear advantage over his rivals.
Both may be short-priced, but this double looks like a solid bet. It’s advisable to lock in prices early as soon as the markets open.
