18:37 ROMFORD: TEABOY BROWNIE (Trap 5)
TEABOY BROWNIE (Trap 5) has a prime opportunity to avoid trouble in the A1 race at Romford, kicking off the card at 18:37. With his blistering early speed, he is expected to break quickly and take the lead from the start. There's not much pace in this field, giving him a strong chance to stay ahead and be difficult to catch.
Known as a skilled sprinter, Brownie has claimed many wins in two-bend minor Open races. While he’ll need a flawless start to fend off some of the stronger four-bend runners, he has what it takes. His last few outings have been hampered by bad luck, so the hope is he gets a clean run this time around.
20:07 PERRY BAR: KILWEST FREDDIE (Trap 1)
KILWEST FREDDIE (Trap 1) caught my eye in the A4 race at Perry Barr, starting at 20:07. Although this debutant has struggled with slow starts in his trials, that experience may serve him well here. With plenty of early speed in this race, he could avoid trouble and get into a good position.
Freddie has been finishing his trials strongly, showing he can handle the distance at the Birmingham track. He only needs to shave off a little time from his fastest trial to have a good chance of taking the win.
21:04 YARMOUTH: MR HOTSTEPPER (Trap 3)
MR HOTSTEPPER (Trap 3) has been in stellar form at Yarmouth lately, competing in an A1 at 21:04 and looking for a third consecutive win at the top level. Though he can be inconsistent at the break, he has enough speed to get into contention by the third bend.
After an impressive debut in the UK with an easy A2 win in late September, Hotstepper has adapted well to the four bends at Great Yarmouth. His past performances in Ireland include top-grade victories at Enniscorthy and Waterford, where he even secured a minor Open win. Having held his own against quality competition at Shelbourne Park, he's definitely one to watch.
