Callaway Knegare Dominates Time Juvenile Derby
Callaway Knegare once again demonstrated his dominance, setting the fastest time in the Time Juvenile Derby semifinals as he heads into next week’s final.
Though Boylesports Blue, trained by Paul Hennessy, managed to narrow the gap from 17 lengths to seven, it was still not enough to challenge Owen McKenna's impressive young contender. Clocking in at 27.85 seconds, Callaway Knegare notched his fifth win in just seven starts, securing the fastest time of the night. Innfield Destiny, under the guidance of Barry Clancy, clinched the last spot in the final, with Callaway Knegare’s winning time coming in 40 spots quicker than the other semifinal.
In the first semifinal, Ballymac Briar, trained by Liam Dowling, emerged victorious with a time of 28.25 seconds. His sectional matched Callaway Knegare’s at 2.10, though he had clocked a faster 2.03 the previous week, setting the stage for an intriguing battle to the first bend in the final. Joining them in the decider are Hello Diego, another Hennessy-trained runner, and Tivoli Milo, trained by Thomas O’Donovan.
