Big Day Out for Sean White as Broadway Murty Triumphs in Northamptonshire Sprint

In a notable victory, Broadway Murty secured owner-trainer Sean White's most significant success to date, claiming the Bet365 Northamptonshire Sprint Final at Towcester on Sunday. For part-owner Josh Naylor, it marked a case of beginner's luck in his first involvement with a dog.

White commented, "Murty is the first dog Josh has been involved in, so he probably thinks it’s easy now!" Naylor, a friend of White’s son Thomas, played a key role in getting White back into the game after a break. The 'Broadway' prefix, signifying Tooting Broadway in south London near White's residence and workplace as a fishmonger, is experiencing renewed success.

Enjoying his return to racing, White expressed, "I’m enjoying my racing and days like Sunday make it even more enjoyable!" He extended gratitude to Towcester and sponsors Bet365 for their support, describing the final as top-class.

Facing favourites Quarteira (Mark Wallis) and Romeo Crusade (David Mullins), Broadway Murty's swift start put him in command. The February 2022 offspring of Ballymac Best and Blackstone May crossed the finish line three lengths ahead of Romeo Crusade, securing victory in the £3,000-to-the-winner Category Two competition with an impressive unbeaten run. The winning time was 15.50 seconds (+5).

White, contemplating the Coral Golden Sprint at Romford for Broadway Murty, emphasized the dog's exceptional trapping ability. He considered sticking to sprinting and highlighted potential targets like the (Arc) Silver Salver at Central Park and the Towcester sprint on Derby final night.

Pat Cooney of sponsors Bet365 congratulated Sean and his family on the victory, commending Murty as a fast sprinter. Cooney anticipated a successful rest of the year for Sean White with the young and promising Broadway Murty.
