Notably, the field includes promising greyhounds such as Yorkie Ollie, Callaway Knegare, Toolmaker Curio, Droopy Plunge, Boylesports Blue, House Martin, Ballymac Thelad, Cheap Sandwiches, Coosane Pickles, Dutchie, Randolph Scotts, Swords Hero, Cheque For Cash, and Ballymac Briar.

From each of the six heats, the top four will advance, narrowing the field to 24 for the second round. This setup ensures a four-round classic, which could evolve into a vintage renewal of this renowned event, reminiscent of the sensational victory by Droopys Flytline.
