King Memphis Dominates in Kent Derby Trial Stake
King Memphis made a triumphant return, showcasing his class as a Derby finalist with a commanding win in the Kent Derby Trial Stake.
With new traps installed at the track on Saturday, some impressive sectional times were recorded. King Memphis clocked a 3.03 split, comfortably finishing in 28.86, setting the fastest race time of the year. However, with the Kent Derby kicking off on October 5, that record is likely to be surpassed.
Earlier in a notable trial session, Puppy Classic champion March On Freddie impressed with an outstanding time of 28.54, just 29 spots shy of the track record. Also on the track were defending champion Churchfield Syd and Sussex Cup finalist Uncle Freddie, further setting the stage for an exciting Kent Derby.
