Wicky Ned Returns to Form in Sheffield Semis

Wicky Ned showcased an impressive comeback in the BresBet Gymcrack semi-finals at Sheffield on Sunday, delivering a commanding performance and reversing his earlier defeat to Droopys Supply in the heats.

Both greyhounds secured their spots in the final, with Jimmy Fenwick's Wicky Ned stealing the spotlight with a remarkable first-bend lead that paved the way for a nearly four-length victory over Droopys Supply, clocking 28.62 seconds for the 500-meter distance. The son of Droopys Sydney emerges as the clear favourite for the upcoming final.

The semi-final action began with a local triumph as Barrie Draper's Ellanne Run maintained her winning streak, seizing control from the start and dominating the race to cross the finish line in 28.87 seconds, ahead of Steve Anderson's Bramble Tango.

In the third semi-final, Monmore contender No Better Feelin claimed victory as Chris Fereday's greyhound surged ahead for a comfortable win in 29.11 seconds, leaving hot favourite Droopys Extragud behind after an early lead from Janssens' Not So Slow.

The Owlerton Stadium Maiden Final also unfolded on Sunday's card, culminating in a win for Paul Rutherford's Wraysbury Katie, who took the lead on the second bend and triumphed in 28.89 seconds over the 500-meter distance.
