Monmore Faces Dilemma with 20 Additional Entries
The decision to reduce Category One competitions from 48 to 36 entries is once again questioned as Monmore experiences a substantial oversubscription for the Ladbrokes Winter Derby. Racing Manager Tony Williamson and his team are now tasked with the challenge of disappointing 20 connections due to a remarkable entry of 56 greyhounds in both quality and quantity. Williamson expressed sincere apologies to those unable to be accommodated, acknowledging the top-class entry of fabulous greyhounds.
Trial Highlights at Crayford
Crayford witnessed notable trial performances on Tuesday, notably the return of local favorite Laughil Jess after a brief hiatus. Clocking a commendable 23.16, Dave Lee's greyhound is set to be a prominent contender in the upcoming Bussey Memorial. Additionally, KSS Syndicate's Queen Pink claimed the top spot over the 540-meter course, fending off Havana Lover. The latter, a multi Cat One winner, is expected to participate in the Premier Greyhound Racing Golden Jacket. Both events are scheduled to kick off on Saturday, February 10.
