Unbelievable Talent on Display at Newbridge

The delayed opening round of the Brownstown Tango & NTSC Open Unraced Bitch 525 at Newbridge showcased incredible talent, with some exceptionally promising greyhounds impressing on Monday night.

All five heat winners delivered remarkable performances, with Crafty Bondi, trained by Peter Divilly, securing the fastest time in heat 4 at an impressive 28.34. In the final heat, Fairy Footsteps, clocking a rapid 28.46, also demonstrated outstanding speed.

Brilliant Bondi a Potential Star

Crafty Bondi, a daughter of Ballymac Bolger and Coolavanny Bondi, made her debut in Heat 4 as the 1-2 favourite. The well-bred greyhound showcased pure pace and strength, overtaking rivals and winning by a significant margin, finishing eight and a half lengths ahead of the competition.

Fairy Takes Flight

Fairy Footsteps, already known for her sizzling 28.34 qualifying time at Shelbourne Park, lived up to expectations in the last heat. The odds-on favourite swiftly asserted her dominance, leading from the start and finishing eleven lengths ahead in 28.46. Fairy Footsteps is considered a massive prospect with a promising future.

Wonderful Sense of Humour

Sense Of Humour, from the same family as Leger winner Ballymac Merlin, delivered a superb performance in the opening heat. Trained by Anton Butler, the greyhound broke smartly, securing the lead and maintaining it throughout the race. Owned by the I Cant Believe It Syndicate, Sense Of Humour won convincingly in 28.56.

Poppy Blooms

Coolavanny Poppy, a litter sister to Juvenile Classic finalist Kerogue Lady, displayed excellent early speed in Heat 2. Taking the lead on the bend, Coolavanny Poppy maintained a clear advantage, winning by three and a half lengths in 28.79.

Song with a Sweet Tune

Barefoot On Song justified her odds-on favouritism in Heat 3, although she faced a challenge from Rossa Ella in the closing yards. Trained by Paul Hennessy, Barefoot On Song held on to win by a half-length in 28.75, with Rossa Ella finishing strongly in second.

The second round of the Brownstown Tango & NTSC Open Unraced Bitch 525 promises more thrilling action, with the talented greyhounds set to compete in heats 1, 2, and 3.
