Time Greyhound Nutrition is poised to take over the sponsorship of the esteemed Greyhound of the Month award in 2024.
The announcement of the December winner is imminent, marking the commencement of greyhound feed suppliers Time as sponsors of this monthly accolade. The award is determined through votes cast by members of the Greyhound Writers’ Association (GWA).
GWA chairman Jonathan Hobbs expressed gratitude to RPGTV/GTV for their support in recent years, acknowledging the remarkable winners, and extended a warm welcome to Time as the new backers of an award deemed highly significant for owners and trainers.
“Recognizing the major winners each month is absolutely right, but also telling the stories around those winners is important,” added Hobbs.
In 2023, Time Greyhound Nutrition sponsored several competitions in the UK and Ireland, including the Dundalk International, Juvenile Derby at Shelbourne, and the 3 Steps To Victory at Sheffield.
Willie Rigney shared his enthusiasm about supporting this award in the UK, expressing delight on behalf of himself and John Fox, who co-manages Time. Rigney highlighted their excellent rapport with numerous trainers in the UK and Ireland, seeing this as a natural progression for their involvement.
“As an owner myself, I know how important it is for owners and trainers – and the greyhounds themselves – to gain the acknowledgment they deserve,” stated Rigney.
Monthly trophies will be supplied by Burridge Trophies, and the GWA expressed gratitude to Mark Burridge for his support.
