Sunday review: thrilling finale on the south coast

The conclusion of the Coral-sponsored Olympic and Curtis/Ballyregan Memorial marked an exhilarating end to the year on the South Coast.

King Memphis and Droopys Clue remained unbeaten throughout their respective competitions, with connections rightfully claiming their status as the top standard distance and stayer hounds in training in Britain.

Droopys Clue took the spotlight first, followed by the impressive performance of King Memphis.

The KSS Syndicate had a notable evening, celebrating Queen Shakira's fastest 500m run of the night in the Coral Christmas 500 final. Ricky Holloway also enjoyed success, securing the Merit Hurdle with Lenson Doolin and clinching the £1,000 Christmas Maiden Final with Droopys Roster.

The highlight of the night, arguably, was the 970m marathon won by Mystical Love. For those who missed the race, a glance at the result sheet provides a glimpse. Commiserations go to the connections of the disqualified Tommys Dove, rightly disqualified but seemingly under the impression he was at the pick-up.
