In Sheffield, England, the semi-finals of the British Bred Derby dog racing event concluded. The races featured professional greyhounds. The event organizers announced that the winner of the races, to be held next week before the end of the year, will receive £10,000.
In the first semi-final, the two winners from last week's races were Queen Joni and Gruesome Enigma. Queen Joni achieved the most impressive result, clocking 28.82 seconds in the 30-second speed races. Gruesome Enigma finished the race in 29.08 seconds, marking his fastest time in the history of the qualifying competitions.
In the second semi-final, dogs trained by Liz McNair dominated, with King Capaldi crossing the finish line first, recording the best time in the races at 28.76 seconds. Kevin Ferguson’s trainees, Acomb Johnny and Acomb Irene, also participated, but the latter was withdrawn from the competition.
