Mark Wallis Secures Trainer of the Year Title for the 14th Time

Mark Wallis, along with his team at Imperial Kennels, is set to welcome the New Year with celebrations as they clinch the Trainer of the Year title for the fourteenth time. The impressive campaign in 2023 has positioned Team Wallis and the MWD Partnership at the top with 1,581 points, securing a comfortable lead of 405 points over Liz McNair (1176) and other competitors.

Throughout the year, Wallis achieved notable Cat One successes on the track, including victories with Aayamza Magic (Essex Vase), Hopes Paddington (Blue Riband), Antigua Sugar (Coronation Cup), Coonough Crow (Grand Prix), Crafty Shivoo (Empress Stakes), and Newinn Syd (Eclipse).

This fourteenth Trainer of the Year success further extends Wallis's dominance in the competition. Before Patrick Janssens broke Wallis's streak by winning the title in 2020, Wallis had secured victories in 2005, 2008, 2009, and an unprecedented eight consecutive titles from 2012 to 2019.

With this achievement, Mark Wallis moves further ahead of his nearest rivals, including Linda Mullins (7), John McGee (5), and Charlie Lister (4). Wallis has consistently demonstrated his training prowess and continues to leave a significant mark on the greyhound racing scene.
