Exciting Final Anticipated in Cesarewitch at Central Park

Renowned trainer Mark Wallis has a strong presence in Sunday's Arena Racing Company Cesarewitch Final at Central Park. The GBGB Category One six-bend showdown witnessed gripping semi-finals at the Kent track.

Wallis will field Garfiney Blaze, Ballymac Taylor, and Mad For Sterling in the £12,500-to-the-winner final. They will be joined by Chris Hamblin’s Ela Maestro, Belinda Green’s Bradys Bullet, and David Lewis-trained Alright Gordy in the 731m contest.

Alright Gordy secured a well-deserved, surprising 14-1 victory in the first semi-final, ending a losing streak. The Irish-bred two-year-old, starting from the outside, outpaced Ela Maestro and Ballymac Taylor for a length-and-a-half success in 45.20sec (-30).

Trainer Lewis expressed delight, acknowledging the tough challenge ahead but highlighting the potential advantage of four railers causing crowding.

Garfiney Blaze set a new track record in the second semi-final, winning in 44.55sec (-30) over Bradys Bullet and Mad For Sterling. The September 2021 son of Ballymac Anton and Ballymac Merkle remains unbeaten in the UK.

The trap draw for the final includes Ela Maestro, Ballymac Taylor, Bradys Bullet, Garfiney Blaze, Mad For Sterling (m), and Alright Gordy (w).
