ALNWICK MARTYN can secure his second win from three starts in an A7 race. Angela Harrison’s promising August pup, from the eye-catching Hiya Butt-Shellam Maeby litter, showed clever running skills last week. Despite a slightly slow start, he produced his best break yet and smartly switched to the outside at the third bend, storming home and narrowly missing the win. His progressive form gives him a strong chance to rectify matters here.
Romford - 15:57 - NOVELLA (Trap 2)
NOVELLA came close to the leader late on at Romford in just her second career start and even led after the line. David Mullins’s November pup, out of the useful stayer Troy Suzieeq, has the scope and stamina to progress quickly through the grades. She should go close with any semblance of a clear run in this competitive A7 heat.
Crayford - 20:59 - FRANKLINS WISH (Trap 1)
FRANKLINS WISH narrowly missed scoring on her recent comeback run and can take the A4 at Crayford. Darren Whitton’s former A1 bitch at Romford had been off prior to that near miss. Despite a subsequent heavy defeat last week after clipping the rail at the first bend, it seemed to be just an odd occurrence. With her pace to lead up the inside, she holds every chance to bounce back.
