Daily Greyhound Tips Friday, 17 May 2024

Our expert, who successfully tipped Monmore winner Cooladerry Stryp (4-1) on Monday, returns with three selections for Friday's action at Central Park and Romford.

On a tricky Central Park card, BRISK BOGAN (Trap 1) could take full advantage of the red jacket in the A4 contest (12.24). Not long ago, he went close in A3 grade on a couple of occasions, and being drawn in Trap 1 and dropping back down in grade suggests a victory here. Barry O’Sullivan’s youngster should secure a clear run on the inside and is arguably still young enough to be improving.

Over at Romford for their open-race evening card, DROOPYS BUCKO (Trap 3) looks a solid choice to win the Romford Friday Night 500 Maiden Final (21.21). Maxine Locke’s charge made his belated debut last time and ran out a ready winner in the heats. He clocked a fast time and showed excellent early pace, with plenty of improvement likely to come. He could break even better from the middle draw and may be leading all the way in this race.

There is another unknown quantity in the final race at Romford (21.51), where Mark Wallis’s RANCHERS WOLF (Trap 4) could be tough to beat over a sharp six bends. The son of Ballymac Cashout may have some space to run into early with a slow starter in Trap 3, a vacant Trap 5, and a wide-runner in Trap 6. He had a decent Irish card over in Clonmel, and since coming to the UK he’s faced tough tasks in open company at Towcester and Hove. Mark Wallis knows what type of greyhound is needed for this specialist trip, and if he believes Ranchers Wolf is good enough for this contest, then that’s also good enough for bets.

Best Bets

12.24 Central Park Brisk Bogan (Trap 1)

21.21 Romford Droopys Bucko (Trap 3)

21.51 Romford Ranchers Wolf (Trap 4)
