Daily Greyhound Tips - 6 March 2024

Dani Jackson is providing commentary at Perry Barr on Wednesday evening, presenting three best bets with analysis.

Snooty Arthur (3) is a greyhound to keep on side in the 19.21 as this is only his second run at the track. He absolutely flew from the boxes in A5 on his track debut, improving forty spots from his trial. His 3.49s split may have been beginners’ luck last time, but even just a bit slower should see him handy into the first bend.

Arthur has recently moved from Swindon where he probably had less success than connections had hoped. However, the move to Perry Barr seems to be positive, and there should be more to come.

The bitch on the inside, It Aint Me (1), is creeping back into form with a win in A5 on her penultimate start before finishing second in this grade. Her times have been decent in both runs, and if she traps in the 3.60’s, she will be prominent around the opening bends.

Porthall Eva (4) is a hound to set your clock by out of the boxes in the 20.32. She has been plagued by trouble on the opening bends of late, but she should be able to clear her rivals into the first bend, and if she can, she is by far the fastest greyhound in this field.

Eva has won in the top grade here at Perry Barr in the past but hasn't been successful since the middle of Jan. That win was in this grade, and she won cosily by over two lengths when making all.

The wide runner, Tingo Maria (6), has a great position with the five-box empty. She was in the same race as Eva last time but didn't get the best of the break and was troubled on the second bend. I don't envisage trouble for her tonight and think she would be the forecast link. She is not the quickest into stride but will be coming into the race late doors.

Swift Employ (6) sprints in the final race (21.08) and seems to be the only quick starter in the lineup. He has been collared late in his races recently, but he has the fastest overall time in this field and should be able to make most, if not all, of the running in this D4.

Swift Employ has a 16% strike rate in D4, and I can see him enhancing that today for the Deakin kennel.

The unknown quantity is the puppy in 2, Citizen Smith. His debut left a lot of room for improvement; he was slow to go, stumbled at the start and was crowded on the opening bend. He will have learned a lot from that debut and should be able to give a better account of himself tonight. His trial times have been quick, and if he gets it right at the boxes, then he could trouble the selection.

Best Bets

19.21 Perry Barr Snooty Arthur (Trap 3)

20.32 Perry Barr Porthall Eva (Trap 4)

21.08 Perry Barr Swift Employ (Trap 6)
