Daily Greyhound Tips 27 March 2024

Fresh from a winner on Sunday, our expert looks at Wednesday's cards for more success, with Romford, Perry Barr and Yarmouth catching her eye.

PARSNIP TEDDY (5) is a greyhound you can set your clock by out of the boxes in the D2 at 19.21 at Perry Barr. He cracks out the boxes and has won his fair share of sprint races due to his rapid getaways. He has the second fastest time in this field and as long as he starts as normal, he’ll be in with a fighting chance to win another D2.

He would prefer to be housed in the black box, but Sometimenow in four will move inwards from this location and should be able to give Teddy all the racing room he needs to dominate and add an eleventh D2 win to his tally.

Drahbeg Dusty (1) is in good form with two wins in the last four outings. He is always up there with the pace into the opening corner and should be sitting handy around the rail. Despite trouble in the last couple of sprints, he’s managed a win and a second, so we know how gutsy he is. He’s also unexposed over two bends, so there should be a little more to come from him than we have seen so far.

The expert wouldn’t usually pick an A11 for a bet; however, the 19.49 at Romford is the ‘Underground Girl’ Centenary Race, and it’s nice to celebrate achievements by graded greyhounds when they are championed by their home track. UNDERGROUND GIRL (1) has been found a more than winnable race for her 100th. She has the fastest time in the field and is the only one to have dipped under the 25s marker.

Underground Girl has not been seen since the middle of February when winning in A10 and after a recent trial has been popped down a peg to A11 for only the second time in her career. She won her first A11 by five lengths, and I envisage something similar tonight.

Young Millie (6) is the danger as she is only an August ’22 puppy with two runs under her collar. She has been second on both when sitting handy most of the way round the track. She is learning on the job, and if she avoids trouble out wide, she could get off the mark.

GIVEMEABREAK (4) in the 20.38 at Yarmouth has been in the top grade at the track in recent starts, even winning one four outings ago by a comfortable four-length margin. He’s dropped down a grade today to A2 for the first time after a few bumpy rides but should be able to get back on track.

Givemeabreak is one of two in the field to have recorded a time sub-28s and as long as he stays out of trouble, he could go close to that time again. He regularly breaks well and he’s back in a trap we know he likes, too. Swanley Diaz (5) is one to keep a close eye on having won two of her last four starts – A5 and A4. This will be her toughest graded race to date, but she’s a puppy on the up and connections chucked her into a heat of a Category 3 competition last time. She had early trouble and came last, but we know that she’s well thought of, and could give the selection something to think about if able to avoid trouble.

Best Bets

19.51 Perry Barr Parsnip Teddy (Trap 5)

19.49 Romford Underground Girl (Trap 1)

20.38 Yarmouth Givemeabreak (Trap 4)
