Daily Greyhound Tips 21 March 2024

Ballymac Andre (9/4) & Cantbeasked (Evs) were victors for experts in the last round, and he returns for Thursday's action at Hove & Newcastle.

Open race enthusiasts are in for a treat tonight with a full programme at Hove, Newcastle, and Swindon, each offering five races.

When seeking winners, the draw is the overriding consideration, as explained in the Greyhound Guide elsewhere on these pages.

And that's something RIOJA WOODY (6) clearly benefits from in a heat of the Dual Distance Trophy at Hove (19.21).

You could be partial to an early-paced wide runner with a vacant box inside at Hove, and not only does Richard Rees's charge have that, but the runners in three and four are also proven railers.

One initial concern with the selection is putting two defeats at Central Park behind him, the latest in last week's ARC Kent Plate heats, but his flawless record of two from two in stripes at Hove indicates this is his ideal setup.

The expert anticipates him leading and having too much pace into the turn for Hopes Melody (4), who, although noted as a railer, has a tendency to edge out at the bend.

Though not quite enjoying the same advantageous setup as the first selection, LIGHTFOOT FALCON (6) is also favourably drawn in the '695 Stayers' (18.44), with his immediate neighbours both seeking the inside, having been previously housed in the same boxes they will emerge from tonight.

Regardless, the selection clearly holds a class edge over this group, not to mention a consistency that has seen him successful in eight of his seventeen outings over CD. The return to this trip after a short spell over four bends appears to suit him perfectly.

At Newcastle, HIGHVIEW SEAN (6) is fancied to secure his fifth consecutive victory over track and trip in the ARC Sprint (19.14).

Despite being drawn wider than usual, he handled trap five well when victorious here last month, beating Coolavannydelboy (4), and also has victories over Swift Gavin (2), while Westforth Ceejay (5) has struggled to make an impact in multiple previous attempts over CD.

Best Bets

18.44 Hove Lightfoot Falcon (Trap 6)

19.14 Newcastle Highview Sean (Trap 6)

19.21 Hove Rioja Woody (Trap 6)
