Daily Greyhound Tips 03 April 2024

Our expert is in fine form ahead of Wednesday's action at Perry Barr, Romford & Yarmouth, where they have three best bets with analysis online.

At Perry Barr, we have an A3 at 19.56, and DARLEY FIRE (1) could hold a handy pitch on the rail and go one better than last time out to win his first in the grade. He has a good turn of foot early doors and should be able to lead the field up the rail.

Darley Fire has won six races in his career to date and has even been chucked into a couple of Open races by connections. He’s a talented lad and has been recording some good times recently – dipping under 29s three times in his last five. Those times would be more than enough to win this race.

Droopys Custom (3) is the danger. He has won two of his last four starts and is seeking a double through the grades. He has won a sprint in the past, and I’d expect him to start brightly enough down the centre of the track, but the selection can hopefully hold him around the bend.

GOOD DELIGHT (6) is a puppy with a future at Romford (20.26). He dotted up in an A3 last time by five lengths when making most and has been whacked with a double penalty tonight. I think he has the goods to deliver though. He has won three in his career so far, and this is his toughest task by far, but he has the pace to get into a good position early, and if he turns handy, should feature.

He is a son of Ice On Fire who was very speedy during his career and seems to have inherited some of his dad’s genes. He is an exciting type, and we might see him (hopefully) win tonight!

Exve Prince (4) should never be underestimated. He has bags of experience and has regularly competed in Open class. If he cracks out of the boxes, he could be a big threat to the selection. He also recorded his best time when winning in the lower grade three starts back.

FARNEYS HAZEL (4) competes in the final race of the night at Yarmouth (21.16). She had been racing at Suffolk Downs for a spell in the Open sphere before returning here last time with a cosy success in A2. She is a rung up today, but she came back with a bang, and the time away seems to have done her the world of good. She might be able to win her first A1 today.

If Hazel splits like she did last time out (5.27s) then she’ll take a lot of catching. The only slight negative in my book is the draw – she may be a touch wider than she would like to be. But with a lightning-fast start, she can overcome it.

Full Control (5) is one to keep on side being the sole wide. She has the benefit of the vacant box and should be able to steer a clear passage today. She’s down in class after a couple of spins in the Open sphere and hasn’t raced this high up the graded ladder before, but she should be able to feature with a clear run round.

Best Bets:

19.56 Perry Barr Darley Fire (Trap 1)

20.26 Romford Good Delight (Trap 4)

21.16 Yarmouth Farneys Hazel (Trap 4)
