Swindon and Hove offer our expert three top picks for Thursday evening.

BALLYMAC MAGS (2) has been in splendid form under Angie Kibble's care and is poised for another victory in the Blunsdon Stayers at Swindon (2107).

Having triumphed in her last three races over this course and distance, with only one loss in her last eight outings, she would typically be the clear favourite. However, the presence of Alright Patricia (5), a finalist in the TV Trophy, is likely to add a competitive edge to the betting market. Nevertheless, without the benefit of a trial, I'm inclined to oppose David Lewis’ strong contender. BALLYMAC MAGS has failed to secure a win without a prior look at four tracks where she has previously raced, and her recent record of just one win in twelve outings is a cause for concern.

At Hove, there are two A1 races catching the eye, with SEOMRA BAXTER (3) expected to outlast the competition (2108).

Under Tony Taylor's guidance, this runner has reached peak form after dropping to A4 company following a break. Now back at the top level, SEOMRA BAXTER is not only competing but also winning convincingly. While Swift Yurt (2) is showing promise, he hasn't yet matched the achievements of his kennelmate, whose strength in the closing stages could once again pay off.

In an earlier A1 race (1827), LIGHTFOOT FALCON (4) appears poised for victory, despite facing tough competition.

Although this contest is of a lower grade than the final of a prestigious sweepstake last week, where he was unlucky due to early trouble before finishing strongly, LIGHTFOOT FALCON has been showcasing his talent over the 500m distance, transitioning smoothly from his usual six-bend performances. With a bit of luck, he should be hard to catch in the final stretch.

Best Bets

18.27 Hove Lightfoot Falcon (Trap 4)

21.07 Swindon Ballymac Mags (Trap 2)

21.08 Hove Seomra Baxter (Trap 3)
