Call for Reform: Greyhound Industry Open Letter Gains Momentum

An open letter addressed to the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, urging reform within the industry, is gaining traction with nearly 400 signatories, including prominent owners and trainers.

Over the years, various owner/trainer organizations such as NAGO and GOBATA have attempted to influence Board policy. However, individuals like Paul Ephremsen and Mark Glennerster, who joined the Board, left due to perceived reluctance to enact significant changes.

This latest initiative utilises modern technology with an online petition format, allowing individuals to sign and support the cause in real-time.

While the letter calls for both mindset shifts and rule changes, it acknowledges the Board's limited authority and resources to enforce major reforms, especially against racecourse promoters and industry stakeholders.

Despite this challenge, the letter serves to highlight pressing concerns and encourages stakeholders to consider implementing suggested improvements for the industry's sustainability and success.
