Angel Leads the Way in Laurels Semi-finals as Ferguson and Barlow Secure Double Victories

Kevin Ferguson is eyeing another major title as his dogs, littermates Acomb Irene and Acomb Felix, secured spots in the upcoming Arena Racing Company Laurels Final at Perry Barr following Saturday's semi-finals.

Just weeks after claiming his first Category One victory in the BGBF British Breeders Stakes at Nottingham, where Acomb Felix led the charge with Acomb Irene and Acomb Johnny following suit, Ferguson's dogs are once again poised for success at the Birmingham venue.

In the third semi-final, Acomb Irene continued her impressive run with a neck victory in 28.51 seconds, outpacing rivals Wicky Hiker and Links Maverick. Meanwhile, Acomb Felix finished a strong second in the first semi-final behind Kevin Hutton's Jet Stream Angel, who clocked the fastest time of the night at 28.20 seconds over the 480-meter distance.

Sheffield trainer Phil Barlow also enjoyed success, with his dog Brickwork Ruck finishing second in the second semi-final behind Paul Harmes’s Kilwest Ranger. The victory saw Brickwork Ruck overcome an early bump to secure a two-length win in 28.30 seconds.

With both Ferguson and Barlow doubling up in the final, the stage is set for an exciting showdown:
