Front Alice claims Proctor's biggest win in Golden Sprint final

In a thrilling turn of events at Romford on Friday, FRONT ALICE secured a surprising yet thoroughly deserved victory in the Coral Golden Sprint Final, propelling owner and trainer Kevin Proctor to his most significant success in handling greyhounds.

Despite entering the race as a 14-1 underdog, Front Alice showcased her characteristic burst of early speed, propelling her past rivals at the initial bend. Notably, even the favored Druids Say Go failed to establish dominance, allowing Front Alice to assert her control throughout the race, closely followed by Kila Detail, trained by Richard Rees.

Maintaining her impressive pace on the day of the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Front Alice held her ground, securing a three-quarters of a length triumph over Kila Detail, completing the 400m trip in 23.86 seconds. This victory not only secured Front Alice the coveted Golden Sprint title but also earned Proctor the substantial £10,000 first prize, marking a milestone in his career as a trainer.

Supa Nova, under the guidance of trainer Paul Burr, finished third, demonstrating commendable perseverance in his endeavor to secure consecutive Romford Category One victories following Roxys Bullet’s Coral Essex Vase triumph in January. However, the spotlight remained on Front Alice's exceptional performance, marking a popular and celebrated win for the Harlow tracker.

A spokesperson for Romford track commented on Front Alice's consistent performance and Proctor's impressive track record, highlighting the impeccable timing of her victory in the Coral Golden Sprint Final, following her previous wins at Romford earlier in the year.
