£80K Turnover at Yarmouth Sale

Yarmouth Stadium hosted another successful sale last week, boasting a turnover exceeding £80,000.

The standout performer of the day was Explosive Queen (Droopys Sydney x Love Honey, May 22), clocking an impressive 28.32 for the 462m trip in Trial 6. Acquired by John Wright, she is set to join Craig Morris's kennel, showing promise for a successful career on the open race circuit, particularly over 6 bends.

The highest-priced lot was the youngest entrant, Droopys Natalie (Coolavanny Hoffa x Droopys Thelma, Jan 23), showcasing an impressive time of 28.78 in Trial 23. Purchased by Richard Marling and joining the Erica Samuels kennels, she is expected to make waves in the coming months, highlighting the potential of Coolavanny Hoffa's progeny.

Among other notable purchases were Droopys Velocity (Romeo Recruit x Droopys Hunch, Oct 22), securing £6200 and heading to the David Dark kennels at Hove, Good Oreo (Droopys Sydney x Billys Diva, Sep 22) fetching £4800 and joining the Frank Gray kennels, and Easy Player (Ballymac Cashout x Jumeirah Zena, Dec 22) sold for £4000 and joining Craig Morris's kennel.

Out of the 48 lots, 43 were successfully sold, reflecting a strong market interest.

Nathan Corden expressed gratitude to Simon Franklin and the Yarmouth team for their hospitality, noting the continual growth of sales at Yarmouth. With over 50% of the greyhounds remaining with Yarmouth trainers, the sale is set to bolster their ranks.

Looking ahead, the focus shifts to the next sale at Crayford on Wednesday, May 15th.
