Yarmouth to Host First "Gone To The Dogs – Live!" Broadcast

Yarmouth is set to host the first-ever "Gone To The Dogs – Live!" broadcast during the Click Competitions 78th East Anglian Greyhound Derby Final on Wednesday, September 18. This special live event marks the first outside broadcast from a UK greyhound track since the days of RPGTV and later GTV.

The show will be presented by Dani Jackson, the familiar host of the Gone To The Dogs podcast, and greyhound betting expert Joe Conneely from Greyhound Star. Spanning over three hours, the broadcast will provide in-depth race coverage, betting insights, interviews, and special features, making it an exciting night for fans of the sport. While the show will have several special guests, the greyhounds will, of course, take centre stage.

Jackson expressed her excitement, saying that this is a significant moment for greyhound racing, potentially paving the way for more extended TV coverage on major race nights. She shared her enthusiasm for bringing the Gone To The Dogs podcast on the road and noted that Yarmouth Derby final night is always one of the most thrilling evenings of the year. The aim is to capture the unique atmosphere and bring it back to viewers’ screens.

She also mentioned that the team behind the broadcast includes experienced professionals, including her former RPGTV colleague Jonathan Hobbs, who will be involved behind the scenes—though Jackson hinted that Hobbs may make an on-screen appearance as well.

The Gone To The Dogs podcast, originally co-founded by Dani Jackson and Joe Andrews, has recently been relaunched with Jackson now joined by tipster Joe Conneely. The team is excited to venture into live broadcasting, viewing it as a fantastic opportunity to elevate the sport of greyhound racing.

Hobbs commented that the project has received great support from various stakeholders, including Garry Nash from Premier Greyhound Racing and Rachel Corden from Arc, as well as the Franklin family from Yarmouth. He emphasised that this is just the beginning, with plans to continue enhancing the excitement of big race nights in the future. He praised Jackson’s reputation, noting her enthusiastic presentation style, which has been well-received from her work on Sky Sports, William Hill, and RPGTV.

The broadcast will be available on a dedicated YouTube channel and will serve as a trial run for future presentations. Hobbs added that the goal is to highlight what makes greyhound racing a fantastic night out, including showcasing the buzz of the betting ring, especially during Yarmouth Derby final night. He hopes the broadcast will guide viewers who may want to place a bet and provide recognition to trainers, kennelhands, and owners, all while sharing their love for the greyhounds—both current racers and retired ones enjoying their new lives.
