Exciting news from Ireland as Cork's greyhound racing will be featured live on Virgin Media this October.
Greyhound Racing Ireland has confirmed that the Laurels Final, scheduled for October 5, will be televised on Virgin Media. The prestigious event offers a top prize of €30,000, with the competition kicking off on September 7. First held in 1944, last year's Laurels was claimed by High Trend, trained by Graham Holland.
The event is sponsored by Bar One, and there's added intrigue this year as the recent Bar One Sprint winner, Broadstrand Syd, stands to earn a €10,000 bonus if he triumphs in the Curraheen Park competition. His trainer, John Linehan, is no stranger to success, having previously won the Laurels in 2020 with Runninta Seeya.
