Updates to the Perry Barr Race Card

A few adjustments have been made to Saturday’s schedule by Perry Barr Racing Manager, Martin Seal.

Seal explained that the race order has been slightly reshuffled to align with the expected horse racing timings. The M Lambe Construction Birmingham Cup Final will now take place in the seventh race at 20:44, while the PGR St Leger Final has been moved to the ninth race, set for 21:20.

He also mentioned that a few greyhounds had to withdraw from the original final lineup due to prior commitments. As a result, substitute greyhounds were brought in, and the trap draws for those races were redone by the GBGB.

Although Trial Stakes were initially advertised for the upcoming PGR Oaks (starting on Saturday, October 5th) and the ARC Scurry Gold Cup (starting Saturday, October 12th), Seal regretted to inform that only two Oaks Trial Stakes will now take place at the beginning of the event. He apologised to the connections that were aiming to participate through this route.

Additionally, trainer John Mullins had Aayamza Sydney run a sprint trial at Yarmouth last night to keep his Birmingham Cup contender sharp. The greyhound posted a time of 16.18, just two spots off the fastest time of the year so far.
