Romeo To Victory Retires After Illustrious Career

Tom Heilbron’s sprinter, Romeo To Victory, has officially retired from racing. The son of Magical Bale sustained an injury at Sheffield last Sunday, marking the end of his remarkable career.

With 16 open race wins across tracks like Sheffield, Newcastle, Romford, and Crayford, Romeo To Victory was also a finalist in the Guys & Dolls competition at Crayford in mid-August. His last triumph came at Romford on September 6, where he posted an impressive time of 13.28 seconds, the second-fastest recorded at the track in 2024. Earlier in the year, he clocked the second-fastest time at Sheffield as well, running 15.74 seconds on February 11.

As a tribute to his racing legacy, Romeo To Victory will return to Owlerton for the trophy presentation of a competition final named in his honor on September 29. Co-owner Kaitlin Petch shared her heartfelt thoughts about his retirement.

“Reggie has been an absolute joy and an incredibly thrilling dog to be part of. From his many victories at Sheffield to competing with some of the fastest dogs across the country, it’s been an unforgettable experience,” Kaitlin said.

She expressed how special it has been to not only own him but also work with him daily. "He’s my best friend and my superstar. After all the happiness he’s brought both in and out of the kennel, a well-deserved retirement at home is just the beginning. He’s going to get all the treats, belly rubs, and love he deserves.”
