The field has narrowed from 48 to 22 as the Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks heads into the quarter-finals this Saturday night at Perry Barr.
In the first round, Druids Say Go, trained by Patrick Janssens, posted the fastest time. Janssens shared that in these early stages, it's all about ensuring qualification by finishing in the top three. He mentioned that Druids Say Go thrives on regular racing, which is why the East Anglian Derby and Oaks were her main goals this year. He added that while her record is already impressive, she has the potential to become one of the all-time greats in their kennel if she continues at this pace.
Reflecting on past success, Janssens noted that they know what it takes to win the Oaks, referencing Slick Sakina's victory two years ago. He hopes Druids Say Go can follow that path, acknowledging that while she has the talent, many other contenders in the competition also possess the ability, and there is still a long way to go.
