The first round of the Birmingham Cup is set for September 7, and the trial sessions at Perry Barr are beginning to intensify as the Category One events draw near.
Tricky Wiggles impressed during a solo trial, recording a time of 28.11 seconds, which is only slightly slower than Darley Diglake's 28.07, the fastest race time of the year so far.
Racing manager Martin Seal issued a reminder regarding the limited pre-meeting trial slots available ahead of the PGR St Leger and M Lambe Construction Birmingham Cup. The trials, which close at 11 am on Tuesday, September 3, are scheduled as follows:
- Tuesday at 12:30 pm (Kennelling)
- Wednesday at 4:00 pm (Kennelling)
- Thursday at 12:30 pm (Kennelling)
- Saturday at 5:00 pm (Kennelling)
Additionally, trial stakes for both Category One competitions have been advertised for Saturday, August 31.
