Perry Barr Set for Thrilling Finals After Weather Delays

This Saturday, Perry Barr will make another attempt to host the much-anticipated finals of the Premier Greyhound Racing St Leger (710m) and the M Lambe Construction Birmingham Cup in Memory of Michael Lambe Senior (480m).

The finals, originally scheduled for last weekend, were postponed due to heavy rainfall, which forced an early end to the event. However, the trainers have been contacted, and both the £20,000 St Leger and the £12,500 Birmingham Cup are set to take place at the Midlands track this weekend.

Alongside these prestigious events, Perry Barr is also set to hold trial stakes for the Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks on Saturday. The plan is to accompany the finals with a series of exciting open races, including the Premier Greyhound Racing St Leger, where Droopys Clue will attempt to defend his title and make history.

In other news, Gingers Prince, trained by Patrick Browne from Hove, enters Friday’s final of the £10,000 Coral Romford Puppy Cup as the quickest semi-final victor after a smooth 23.89-second win last week.

The other semi-final winners were Roanna Mamba (24.00 seconds) and Untold Rufiyaa (24.10 seconds).

Coral Romford Puppy Cup Final Line-Up (Friday):

1. Fire And Ice (Matt Dartnall)

2. Gingers Prince (Patrick Browne)

3. Untold Rufiyaa (Tom Heilbron)
