March On Freddie Shines in Record-Breaking Run

In an electrifying performance at the JenningsBet Puppy Classic semi-finals in Nottingham, March On Freddie shattered records, delivering a breathtaking display in the third heat.

The young greyhound, trained by David Mullins, took an early lead in the 500m race and never looked back. By the time he crossed the finish line, he had pulled an astonishing 11 lengths ahead, clocking in at 29.00 seconds. This remarkable time was just five spots shy of the previous record set by Irish sensation Skywalker Logan at Colwick Park. Kevin Hutton’s Rioja Bungle secured second place, earning a spot in next week’s final.

Considering his young age and the calibre of his performance, the 36-kilogram son of Dorotas Wildcat, born in September 2022, has certainly made a name for himself. As the final approaches, with a £12,500 prize up for grabs, March On Freddie will undoubtedly be the favourite. This event will run alongside the prestigious JenningsBet Select Stakes and JenningsBet Select Stayers, two highly anticipated one-off races.

In the first semi-final, Heather Dimmock’s Droopys Extragud showcased an impressive run, overcoming crowding at the first bend before edging out Chris Fereday’s No Better Feelin by a head in 29.93 seconds. Meanwhile, in the second semi-final, local favourite Kilgarran Jay, trained by Paula Timmins, demonstrated quick early speed, securing a victory by a length and a quarter over Newcastle’s Blackhouse Kim, trained by Stuart Ray, with a time of 30.25 seconds.
