March On Freddie Dominates Nottingham's JenningsBet Puppy Classic Heats

March On Freddie solidified his status as the favourite for the upcoming event with a stunning performance in the fifth heat of the JenningsBet Puppy Classic over 500 meters at Nottingham.

Having already shown promise with consecutive wins in trial stakes at Colwick Park, March On Freddie demonstrated his early speed, quickly distancing himself from his kennelmate, Syd Zafiro. He maintained a commanding lead throughout the race, eventually crossing the finish line over five lengths ahead, securing a one-two victory for trainer David Mullins in a remarkably swift 29.49 seconds.

March On Freddie’s time was the fastest of the night, though Missile One, trained by Seamus Cahill, also impressed. Despite being lightly raced, Missile One, a son of Broadstrand Bono born in September 2022, claimed an impressive victory by six lengths over Brigadir Brindle, finishing in a fast 29.77 seconds.

The fastest sectional time was recorded by Matt Dartnall’s Fire And Ice, who clocked 5.05 seconds with an exceptional burst of early speed, leading to a narrow half-length victory over Kilgarran Jay in 29.96 seconds.

Other heats of the JenningsBet Puppy Classic saw victories from Stuart Ray’s Newcastle contender Blackhouse Kim (30.08 seconds), John Lambe’s Perry Barr runner Swift Underwater (30.19 seconds), and local hopeful Crafty Elmo, trained by Colin Wilton, who won in 30.39 seconds.

Monday’s races also featured the JenningsBet Maiden 480m Trophy Final, where Lynn Cook’s Good Romeo delivered an impressive all-the-way win, claiming victory by nearly ten lengths with a time of 28.78 seconds.
