Liz and Wayne Mazey: A Beacon of Positivity in Greyhound Racing

Liz and Wayne Mazey are well-known and beloved figures in the greyhound racing community, standing out as a beacon of positivity and hope. Frequently seen around the tracks promoting the rehoming of retired greyhounds, the Mazeys have become fixtures at Towcester throughout this year's Derby. Their infectious smiles and uplifting presence have brought joy to all who encounter them.

In today's world, it's easy to focus on the negatives, but Liz and Wayne choose to seek out and highlight the positives, a quality that shines through in everything they do. Pictured above with their retired greyhounds, Luna (formerly Savana Jackie) and Bangerz (formerly The Rockstar), their love and dedication to the sport and the animals are evident. Bangerz, in particular, holds special meaning as he is named in memory of Liz's late son, Ryan.

Signet Goofy, trained meticulously by John Mullins throughout his career, is set to lead out the runners for the Star Sports Bookmakers TRC English Greyhound Derby Final. Bangerz will also be part of this special night, following the lineup onto the track.

If you spot Liz and Wayne at Towcester on Derby Final night or at any track around the UK in the coming months, take a moment to appreciate their positivity. Contributing to their cause not only supports the rehoming of retired greyhounds but also helps spread their message of turning negativity into positivity. By doing so, you too can help bring a little more light into the world.
