This December, the Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust (LGT) will be back at the London International Horse Show, bringing their greyhounds to the popular shopping hall. Last year marked a milestone as LGT became the first dog rehoming charity allowed to showcase greyhounds there, typically reserved only for competing and assistance dogs. The greyhounds’ charm quickly captivated visitors, establishing the breed’s stellar reputation.
During the five-day event in 2023, over 80,000 visitors from around the world—including Cheryl Janssens and Ria Tillett—stopped by, and LGT hopes for another successful turnout in 2024. For Chairman Kevin Stow, choosing to attend was a significant commitment, as this is the charity’s most costly event to date. However, LGT views this investment as invaluable, prioritising awareness over financial returns, with little emphasis on fundraising or merchandise sales.
The Trust’s mission is to highlight what exceptional pets greyhounds make, with last year’s volunteers, including Gail May, Carly Philpott, and ‘Forrest’ (Special Thanks), showcasing this first-hand. They, along with other dedicated volunteers and greyhounds, will be back this December.
If you’re attending the London International Horse Show, running from December 18-22 at the ExCeL Centre, be sure to make LGT’s stand a must-see!
