Laughill Jess Triumphs as RPGTV Greyhound of the Month in November

The exceptional Laughill Jess has been crowned RPGTV Greyhound of the Month for November, marking an incredible achievement with her aim to secure a 20th consecutive win at Crayford this Saturday. Owned and trained by Dave and Dawn Lee, Laughill Jess clinched the Ladbrokes Gold Collar Category One title during November, extending her remarkable winning streak over Crayford's 540m course.

The May 2021 offspring of Out Of Range ASB and Laughil Irene showcased her dominance with 17 consecutive victories at Crayford, including the Gold Collar final. Although her unbeaten record faced a challenge in the Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks at Perry Barr, where she secured a heat victory but fell short in the second round, Laughill Jess maintained her supremacy at Crayford throughout all rounds of the prestigious event.

Clive Lawrence, executive producer at RPGTV, commended Laughill Jess, stating, "In my opinion, there could only have been one winner, so absolutely hats off to Laughil Jess and the Lee family. We all know how difficult it is for greyhounds to rack up sequences, so what Laughil Jess is doing is quite amazing – especially when you think she won a Cat One competition in between. That makes her very special indeed, so well done all."

Crayford racing manager Danny Rayment also praised Jess's achievements, acknowledging her status as the "Queen of Crayford." Jess is set to compete in the final of the ladbrokes.com Christmas Guys & Dolls on Saturday, facing a strong field. Rayment expressed anticipation for another lively Saturday and highlighted the upcoming Boxing Day meeting as a popular event at Crayford.

Securing the RPGTV Greyhound of the Month award for November, Laughil Jess surpassed notable contenders, including RPGTV Puppy Derby winner King Memphis (Liz McNair), Arc Classic victor Jonny Whiskers (Harry Burton), and Premier Greyhound Racing Eclipse champion Newinn Syd (Mark Wallis). The award, voted for by members of the Greyhound Writers’ Association, acknowledges Laughil Jess's outstanding performances during the month.
