Ricky Holloway's hurdler, Four From Two, is dominating the 540m hurdles circuit, having secured four consecutive victories over the distance. This Champion Hurdle finalist seems to have found his ideal race length, excelling over the hurdles with flawless performances. Not only is he consistently winning, but he’s also clocking impressive times, stopping the clock at 33.71 seconds for the second time on Sunday night.
To put that into perspective, consider the times of Laughil Jess (33.65) in the race following Four From Two’s, and Slick Sabo (33.72) later in the evening. Both of these races were on the flat, and Four From Two's time is right in the middle of theirs, highlighting just how impressive his hurdle runs have been. It’s a pity that hurdling over a galloping four-bend track is becoming increasingly rare.
Four From Two was one of six winners for Holloway that night. Among the other victors was Signet Harper, who maintained her strong form in the 380m hurdles event. Holloway's success continued with Coppice Burton, Similar Display, Imonlytwilight, and the aforementioned Slick Sabo.
In the fastest 380m run of the evening, King Snoop delivered a 23.17-second finish for trainer Theresa Dornan. A triple A1 winner over the summer, King Snoop led the field comfortably after a solid 3.53 sectional.
Trainer Dave Lee also had a successful night, with Laughil Jess claiming her 24th open race victory at the track. Lee's night ended on a high note with another win from Ya No in the final race.
