The Laurels competition has reached its final 12, with Faypoint Harvey standing out as the fastest in the quarter-final stage at Curraheen Park.
Weighing in at 81 pounds, Faypoint Harvey, trained by Graham Holland, is not only the largest competitor but also clocked the quickest time of the night. In a heat that featured Crafty Shivoo, the new ante-post favourite, it was Faypoint Harvey who stormed ahead early, recording an impressive 28.23 seconds.
Holland enjoyed further success with The Other Kobe. With the Irish Derby just four weeks away, The Other Kobe is hitting peak form at the right time. Though he didn't take the lead until the final quarter of the race, he finished powerfully, winning by four lengths with a time of 28.42 seconds.
In the final quarter-final, Road Exile led from start to finish for trainer Pat Buckley. Known for his sharpness when leading, Road Exile narrowly held off his challengers, securing a 28.44-second victory.
The first heat saw a dramatic shift at the third bend, where trouble on the track opened the door for Hazelhill Bucko to snatch the win for Lucy Roche, finishing in 28.59 seconds. Having missed a spot in the St. Leger Final by just a head in August, Hazelhill Bucko now advances to another major semi-final.
The stage is set for an exciting conclusion to the Laurels competition as the top contenders move closer to the grand final.
