Daily Greyhound Tips 07 March 2024

Princess Athena triumphed at 7-4 for Darrell on Tuesday, and our greyhound expert is back for Thursday's action at Hove & Swindon - live on Sky Sports Racing.

Sky Sports viewers can enjoy live action from Sheffield this morning, but for Open race fans, the focus is on Hove and Swindon tonight. Both tracks plus all the PGR venues are live via the red button or through greyhounds.attheraces.com.

I’ll head to Hove where Antigua Sun (4) will take plenty of holding in the Sprint (1921).

Jason Heath’s local is two from two in previous course and distance appearances and has a good set-up with Soul Rebel (3) looking for the inside.

While unlikely to trap in front, it is the selection’s pace to the corner that is his raison d’etre and while up against in the Golden Sprint heats last weekend will relish the return to home base.

Moustows Muttley (6) is a respected danger, especially with a vacant box to his inside but is held by the selection on their clash in mid-January although still looks the logical forecast link.

Abbo Dabbo Dooo (1) showed significant improvement when scoring in a Hove A4 last week and faces the wrath of the grader with a double-penalty in an A2 (2051).

Ordinarily that would be off-putting, but it took the former A1 Central Park grader’s record to three from four at Hove suggesting he is handling it better than he did the Kent venue.

Farmway Cdog (5) would be a big threat on her Xmas A1 form but with the likelihood of an early lead, the selection looks one to stay with on current form.

Untold Yen (5) has landed in what appears the easier of two 476m Opens at Swindon (2022) and could benefit from his Carol Weatherall trained kennelmate Lemming Candy (4) making an early inward move.

The selection ran on well behind Gurtnara Paddy, who along with the beaten favourite in that race Bluejig Buzz has both been drawn in the tougher earlier duplicate contest.

Four times a previous winner (from 11 tries) in similar contests, his biggest dangers are likely to be Oxford raider Coppice Trophy (3) and consistent local Mister Donovan (6).

I’m throwing in a fourth selection in Ballymac Mags (1) who contests the closing A2 (2152).

Fresh from her seasonal break she ran well to score last week, showing plenty of improvement from her comeback trials.

Best known for her exploits over six bends Angie Kibble’s runner has scope to improve further and Moreton Mischief (6) aside, who reverts to graded company after facing Open race opposition, it looks a race well within her grasp.

Best Bets

19.21 Hove Antigua Sun (Trap 4)

20.22 Swindon Untold Yen (Trap 5)

20.51 Hove Abbo Dabbo Dooo (Trap 1)

21.52 Swindon Ballymac Mags (Trap 1)
