Crayford’s NGW Event Draws a Huge Crowd

Crayford's recent National Greyhound Week (NGW) event turned out to be another successful family day, just like last week.

Thanks to free entry, the stadium saw a large and enthusiastic crowd, with all 12 race winners proudly receiving trophies. Children attending the event were treated to rosettes, wristbands, and most importantly, the exciting opportunity to meet Rosie, a retired greyhound.

Rosie is part of the Friends of Crayford Retired Greyhounds initiative, which aims to showcase how greyhounds can become wonderful family pets after their racing days are over.

Stadium Manager Wayne Crittenden expressed his satisfaction with the event, noting how thrilled he was to see such an excited audience, filled with both familiar and new faces. He highlighted that the atmosphere throughout the evening was fantastic, with thrilling races to keep the crowd entertained. Off the track, Rosie helped highlight how greyhounds make excellent companions, thanks to the efforts of the Friends of Crayford Retired Greyhounds team who shared their knowledge with racegoers.

The event was not only a racing success, but also a celebration of the bond between greyhounds and families, leaving a positive impression on all who attended.
